The heavy blue in the background bothers me as the detail in their pulls my eye, just as the shubbry does in the bottom right. Anything that takes attention away from the subject – the light – is only a detriment to the image. I wouldn't mind the subtly of one blush every so softly getting edge light, such as teh one closest to the sun portion of the dune, but as soon as you provide detail in shadows, the viewer hunts for information there. And that can just take away from the power and strength of the photograph. |

Beautiful texture. Well done in the visualization of the image. Still a bit heavy on the post. It's very 'in your face' and is lacking softness in what should be a warm and appealing photo. Softness not in focus but in emotion. Your photos will ALWAYS illicit an emotion in people. You should want it to be warm, inviting and positive. These emotions create connection. "Cool photo" is not a reaction that evokes an emotional connection. Trying pulling back on harsh values and repost a second-try on the post work. Your JPEG original should be pretty close to perfect right out of camera, hitting the nail on the head for that soft and warm emotional response. |

Your anchor is bulls-eye center. Try recropping with rule of thirds in place, using the tracks as leading lines. |

Exactly what Aaron said. Those highlights take away from the beautiful texture and light on the dune face. The heavy color shifts are almost vibrant oil paints instead of soft watercolors. The dunes are soft light and soft texture. Try and keep your post work to reflect the emotion of the place. |

The mostion blur from either camera or post just doesn't work for me. If it was sharp, I think a pano without the upper third and a little off the bottom would make it really nice. Do you have one that is in focus? |
